Baby has  been adopted!

after over 2 months baby got adopted by an older couple with no kids on saturday. the woman saw her first ( hubby was out of town and he was late getting back) and it seemed she was set on getting baby. she kept saying baby was perfect. they previously ha a lab who was ball obsessed( die a few months ago) and she wants one who loves to fetch and swim. well thats baby. it didnt seem to matter that baby wasnt very people oriented. later when her husband showed up , baby let him pet her, shes never done that before with any prospective family. he works in construction so he may even take her to work. in the next day or two, will write them to see how she is doing

Baby - my new foster

meet Baby my new foster dog. I found out about her on Saturday and because this was such a dire case i got her sunday. i was told her owner died and her husband who didn't like the dog had her chianed up in backyard from 7am to 10PM  at night with NO SHELTER. then her brought her in and she was locked in the bathroom for the night. how can u say no to that even though wasn't ready as i still have that horrible cough and still do today.

a woman who works for luv a mutt and lives in same area( she was one who told rescue group as it was about  a coworkers mom) went there and picked up baby and drove to us. she said the woman died in january and man didn't want to turn in dog to shelter as 7 yr old black labs woudl be put down ( so life on chaian is bettter- some people)

baby was full of energy so we took her to the park and she did great. something here does not add up. there is no way this dog has been chained up since january. she is in excellent physical condition, actually slightly overweight, very well adjusted - not at all skittish or scared. also her nails are neatly trimmed. i can believe a month or two but no way 6 months.

baby loves to fetch but unlike charlie she doesn't bark like crazy. she knows here basic commands and walks nicely on leash.  she just wants to be loved , i am sure she misses her mommy.

Raylee my new foster girl

raylee is my newest foster girl - she has been in the shelter for 6 months and in and out of foster homes ( shelter workers)
she is about 2years old and about 40 pounds - and who knows what breed she is mixed with.
***update - lynn in her petfinder listing called her a  
entlebucher  mix. I have never heard of that breed so wonder how she knew it. so i looked it up and sure enought the photos fo  raylee do look so much like the entlebucher mountain dog

this was description i was told :
" Raylee is a quiet dog that does very well in the foster home she is in here (we have had her since October), The foster has a young Great Dane and she does well with her.  She is still too timid to have fast moving children around, she hides when kids come over.  She seems to enjoy the company of one or two people and gets nervous and scared when more people are around, she will just hide.  She has never shown any aggression.  She was in a foster home (one of my employees) that has a large family and lots of dogs and cats.  She did well there.  She really started to show her personality with the employee and became attached to her.  After she came back from WSU, we placed her in another foster home because the employee had started to foster another dog.  I would like to get her somewhere she may get adopted if you think she would work with them.  She was brought to us because the person that had found her three months earlier feed her, but never allowed her in, and he was moving his trailer and he did not want to take her with him."

 when i met raylee she was so scared and shy, ears down and tail between legs. a few hours later, i had her smiling and tail up. she loves to run and fetch but not overly obsessed with it.
she is very smart girl - i literally tought her to shake in minutes.

I do think she was abused a bit as she does have a tendency to cower and slink as if she is afraid of being hit.

why it has taken 6 months to adopt her is beyond me as she is sweet and loving girl. our guess is she hid and cowered at shelter/adoption event  and did not show well.

mandy adopted

mandy was adopted last sunday
( with my hand hurtin  so much typin has been really bad this week and any amount is such an effort and takes so much out of me

the first family that came to look at her just loved her. they sounded super on paper but u never know. there are 3 kids ages 8-12. the little girl completely fell in love and when they went out to take her for a walk i just knew she found a new home.

their previuos dog recently died and her name was mandy. they already had 3 possible names picked out for her. about 2 hrs after they left, got email from them , mandy is now known as Piper. also got photos of her with each of the kids. today got a video with piper playing in the yard.

got new foster on monday

this is what i was told:
7-8 month old lab mix.  She is on the smaller side, they are guessing 40 pounds.  She is completely up to date on her
vet care.  She was adopted from an adoption fair and then returned to the Moses Lake shelter for "aggression".   The adopters said she was both people and dog aggressive"

and pics i was sent:

even though weren't ready to foster again( wanted to wait until after coopers birthday ), was told they urgently needed a foster for her as lynn from rescue group i work with has her hands  fill with own dogs, foster puppy and her kids.

this is what lynn siad about her:
"We have been on several walks and she does fine.  After time at the dog park, she will warm up.  Today she is fine with my big dogs.  She is great with my little dog and the puppy that is here.  They play very well.  She is very loving and snuggly and just wants to be with her person.  She is housebroken.
She rides great in the car.  Overall, she is just a wonderful little girl who needs a confident, loving owner.  Oh...I have chickens and she is VERY interested in them so keeping her away from fowl is probably a good idea.  Other than that, she is good!"

i don't see any aggression in that  and now after one day there is none. she is shy towards other dogs but bonds quickly with her people.
