every sunday at 9:00 PM a scrapbook of the week (SOTW) and funny scrapbook of the week is chosen at SBF and you get a special icon for this award which is on your home page
This past Sunday I own - thank you to all members who voted on my page
Initially it was given to the high scores but because the same people were winning it , the editors at the site now have it so you can only win once every 12 weeks ( either award) under your name there is actually a bar saying when you are eligible to win again.
this is my winning page starring cooper
this was my last SOTW - usually pages get about 100 extra point but htis page got way more than that. have no idea why. And as of now it is the highest scoring page for 2011
my previous SOTW is not cooper page - really loved how it turned out but you cannot see it on the site as that was during the period when many pages were lost. I did not want to reupload as I did not want to lose all the comments and favorites added.this was nov 2010
aug 2010 I got funny scrapbook of the week for Cooper goes surreal
may 2010 was funny scrapbbok when i did a page for another sbf members pet - captain jack sparrow
feb 2010 got SOTW for landscape page - kind of surprised as don't think it is one of my better pages. this was called green
oct 2009 was my first funny scrapbook award and it was with cooper - called mushroom fantasy - at that ime any non realistic pages/whimiscial pages were put in humor
july 2009 was my first SOTW and still is one of my fave pages. for hte longest time it was my highest scoring page- now it is my second highest ( 4 points behind another cooper page) This was made for a challenge called the hardest challenge. the idea was to extract 2 different pics and place them together on a new background so it would look like one .

new pc on its way!!!!!
for months i have been wanting a new pc and finally around 10 days ago I have had enough of my current one between not being able to play any games ( I do think that is because of my power supply overheating but don't want to put any money into this pc)and the horrible slowdowns in using photoshop.watching the progress bar for doing every little thing makes doing a page even longer and i am a super slow scrapper to begin with.
so after getting totally fed up i finally ordered a new pc from digital storm - one of the top online gaming pc companies. While not a top of the line PC it still should be very fast and should play any game with all graphics maxxed out on my current 22 inch monitor. With this new pc, I really hope to get back into gaming - but what game do i start out with. I want one with great graphics but not sure I am ready to go into a 100 hour game. in the old days I loved those types. Ideally now i can do some gaming but still continue scrapping even if i t means doing less pages and entering less challenges.
I know of a couple forums dedicated to rpg gaming so maybe i will join and ask for game suggestions. since i will need my specs I might as well post them here .
Coolermaster case HAF 922Processor: Intel Core i7 2600K 3.40GH overclocked to 4.4
750W Corsair PSU
Memory - 8GB DDR3 1600MHz
Motherboard: ASUS P8P67
Noctua cooler
120GB intel SSD
1TB Western Digital Caviar HD
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 570 1.2GB
Windows 7 Home Premium (64-Bit Edition)
on Friday I was told it was shipping - about a week earlier than I expected it to. that means it may be here Monday or Tuesday as it is coming from california.
I still need ot get a bunch of peripherals - such as gaming keyboard, new speakers, webcam, 27 inch monitor . I have an old mouse - logitech mx518 but it is still considered a very good gaming mouse. Also need a new desk as this one is too small and cramped. Have already looked at some at Ikea but jerry wants to wait until it is here before getting the desk.

Cooper's massage
last summer at one of the many dog events I go to there was a raffle - actually there were several ones to choose from. while the gifts were somewhat dog related most of them were not of great interest to me or were too far to use. The one i was interested in had the least value and had far less tickets than any of the other ones. My main reason for wanting this one was for the dog swim spa therapy session. Also included in the package was a massage session. Just before Talla ( my current foster ) came to live with me, I used it. The woman comes to your home and it was for a half hour massage session. As you can see by the photos he thoroughly enjoyed it. So naturally I had to make a scrapbook page of it.
these are the photos from the scrapbook page

Bradley
Another pet who recently did was this cat named Bradley who belonged to Oreosmeow/carol. Now this wasn't actually her cat. She works in a vet and they take care of cats too. Bradley came to carol in february and has been sharing stories of him since. it is like we all virtually adopted him. If i recall correctly he was a very old cat and returned to the clinic because his family did not want to deal with his diabetes. She often tells stories thru her layouts about the cats that she cares for in her clinic but it was only Bradley that truly touched us all.
a group was made to post pages for carol here.

Seth pages
Seth was a very handsome dog who suddenly died to an SBF friend Sugarpops - Nessa. the entire family was devastated by it. there was recently a challenge to make pages for Seth. in the past for a pet tribute I made a more traditional tribute page but this time I did not. In fact I made 4 pages for the challenge something i rarely do as I feel so bad for the family. i try to imagine what i would feel if cooper suddenly died.
to see all the pages made for seth go here . nessa is planning on making a memory book of all these pages. what a book it will be - this is a great idea especially for her young daughter meggy. even their small dog toby misses Seth. since the challenge has started the family has a new puppy who apparently has a lot of resemblance to Seth. can't wait to see the photos of him.

easter pages
This year I have made 2 Easter pages of Cooper besides the 2 ct pages I did.
this was made for fun and to wish everyone at SBF a happy Easter
this page is currently in a challenge on using a technique called white space where the background on the page is left empty. I kept wanting to add more so this was a bit hard for me but am happy with the way it came out. This is what i love about SBF - challenges that make me stretch myself. even if i never do it again.
Here are my Cooper Easter pages from previous years
